Learn more about upcoming update of the legendary Counter-Strike
Get ready, gamers! The next era of Counter-Strike is upon us, and it promises to be the biggest leap forward in the history of this iconic first-person shooter. Counter-Strike 2 is set to launch this summer, bringing with it a host of new features and updates that will redefine the gaming experience for years to come. While the full extent of these exciting additions is yet to be revealed, a Limited Test is currently underway for select CS:GO players, allowing them to get a taste of what’s to come and help fine-tune the game before its worldwide release.
One of the most game-changing features in Counter-Strike 2 is the introduction of dynamic volumetric Smoke Grenades. No longer static clouds, these new smoke grenades interact with the environment, reacting to lighting, gunfire, and explosions. This enhanced interactivity opens up new tactical possibilities, as bullets and HE grenades can now temporarily clear sightlines or expand occlusion by pushing the smoke. The smoke will also behave more naturally, seeping out of opened doorways, broken windows, and even traveling up and down stairs, expanding in long corridors and blending with other smokes.
The game looks really good, it’s so clean looking, y’know.

Counter-Strike 2 introduces a groundbreaking sub-tick update architecture, rendering the tick rate irrelevant for moving, shooting, or throwing. Unlike its predecessor, where the server evaluated the game world in discrete time intervals called ticks, the new system allows for precise tracking of motion, shots fired, and grenade throws. This means that regardless of the tick rate, players will experience equally responsive movement, shooting, and grenade physics, ensuring a fair and consistent playing field for everyone.
There are many changes, but not all of them have been made public yet. Make sure to follow CS2 Sites to get all the updates of the upcoming sequel to CS:GO. Some of the changes have been described below:
